Denver Neighborhoods
The best neighborhoods in Denver can be found with relative ease, but it is important to note that each area has its unique appeal. All of the neighborhoods listed below are within a short distance from downtown and offer something different and distinctive.
Barnum
Barnum is a neighborhood on the west side of Denver. It contains magnificent views of Denver’s skyline and the Rocky Mountains.
Berkeley
Berkley is a quiet district in northwest Denver bordered by the Lakeside Amusement Park.
Capitol Hill
Capitol Hill is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Denver, boasting numerous iconic landmarks like the golden domed Colorado State Capitol building, historic Millionaires Row, and the Golden Triangle Creative District.
Central Park
Formerly known as Stapleton, the neighborhood is a master planned community in northeast Denver located on the grounds of the old, decommissioned airport which closed in 1995.
Congress Park
Congress Park has blossomed into one of Denver’s most sought after urban neighborhoods. The neighborhood, originally known as Capital Heights, was known as a streetcar suburb before it was incorporated into Denver in 1889.
LoHi
LoHi, short for Lower Highland, is a hip neighborhood known for its cocktail lounges, craft beer spots, and stylish restaurants – some with rooftop views of the skyline.
North Park Hill
One of Denver's oldest neighborhoods, Park Hill is a grid of tree-lined streets with single family homes and garden apartments.
Platt Park
Platt Park is a gem usually overlooked by neighboring and well-known Wash Park to its north and the University neighborhood, home to University of Denver to its east.
Potter Highlands
The Potter Highlands Historic District is one of Denver’s oldest neighborhoods and lies west above downtown Denver as a subdivision of the original town of Highland.
RiNo
Colorado’s Brooklyn – River North Art District, or RiNo, is Denver’s trend-setting neighborhood where the hippest bars, restaurants, art galleries, coffee shops, breweries, lounges, street art all exist.
Sloan's Lake
The neighborhood, which hugs Sloan’s Lake Park, Denver’s largest lake surrounded by a park with 2.5-mile trail, two playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball courts and boating access, has excellent city views, easy access to downtown, Empower Field at Mile High and world cuisine on Federal Blvd.
South Park Hill
South Park Hill is a charming residential district with a happening dining scene.
Washington Park
Wash Park, as locals call it, combines suburban serenity with city convenience in a quaint, classic mix of bungalows, tudors, American foursquare homes and new construction.
